The RBA has partnered with preferred security provider, ICON Security Group to provide increased security on the peninsula. ICON now has two patrol cars on the street seven nights a week. Since introducing these patrols in 2004, break-ins have been reduced from as many as 40 per month to less than 10 per month and averaging 5 or less, representing a reduction of 400%. From Police Intel reports taken earlier in the year, statistics indicate that crime within the Rosebank area still remains at levels lower than other similar Auckland business districts.
The most effective deterrent to burglary has been both the visibility of the patrol cars and the correspondingly reduced response times - under 5 minutes! This is exceptional compared to the average Police 111 response time of 12 minutes and the industry standard of 20 minutes.
ICON Security Group also provides graffiti watch and removal (at no cost to your company) and a daily email report on all security monitored activities.

PROJECT ROSEBANK

The relationship with ICON Security Group saw the introduction of the Auckland City Council funded business education initiative, “Project Rosebank,” in 2010 which offered FREE security assessments on individual businesses in the form of CYPTD and its principles. The closing report of this project reported that the biggest obstacle in fighting burglary in Rosebank is still complacency from business owners, leaving windows open, etc.

• MONITORING – From just $1 per day representing a 15% discount for RBA members.
• ALARM RESPONSE – the admin fee of $104/year is waived and the $55 per response is reduced to just $45 per response.
• PATROL CHECKS (Exterior and Interior as required. These can be as detailed as checking indoor temperatures) – 20% discount to RBA members (= 80cents per minute, compared to $1 per minute).

CCTVS

Later in 2011, the RBA will install its own fully monitored CCTV programme from cameras situated at the Rosebank Roundabout. This will provide yet another crime fighting tool and deterrent to the criminal mindset.
